To evolve is a gradual process in which development changes from a simple to a more complex form.
I trust that all things in existence are not separate things or entities, but are part of an interconnected web of several dimensions. These perceptions led me to observe and draw imagery from nature.

A lifelong affinity with the natural world and a continual fascination for drawing the human figure prompted me to explore the commonalities between these two subjects. A previous series investigated the emotional and psychological body language of women coping with change and transformation. The current body of work focuses on the connections between the natural world and the human state of renovation.

When observing ordinary transitions in the natural world, it quickly becomes apparent that everything has a purpose and is linked to something else. When it comes to change, nature is non-resistant and it evolves or dies as a result. Perhaps humankind’s resistance to life’s transitions could glean much from the lessons of nature. Personal experience, documentation of others’ stories and nature’s astounding beauty serve as continual inspiration for my artwork.
